To make easier to create quotations or sales orders in the Sales module, it is crucial to keep track of all sales products. By doing this, you can quickly and conveniently choose the necessary item from your system with only one click. Because of the Odoo 17 ERP system's high degree of integration, the Inventory and Sales modules can operate together, enabling you to obtain product stock information directly from the Sales module. Therefore, make sure you configure the necessary products to the Sales module before establishing a sales order.

The Product Name, Internal Reference, Responsible, Product Tags, Sales Price, Cost, Quantity on Hand, Forecasted Quantity, and Unit of Measure are all detailed in the List view of the product window. Using the icon located in the window's right corner, as seen in the screenshot below, you can add more default fields and custom fields to the list view.

Let's now see how new products are configured in the Odoo 17 sales module. You can choose the necessary products from the provided list and alter them if you wish to make modifications to the products that are currently accessible. You are instructed to click the New button in order to create a new record. Below is a screenshot of the new product configuration window.
In the Product Name column, the product's name may be mentioned. As we already indicated, you can add this product to your favorites list by using the star icon. Depending on the option you choose, this product can be sold, bought, expensed, recurring, and rented.

If you want to sell this product, you can select the Can be Sold option. This product can be set up to be purchased by using the Can be Purchased option. By using the Can be Expensed option, the product can be chosen at a cost. By choosing the Recurring option while confirming a sales order for this product, a subscription will be created. By selecting the Can be Rented option in Odoo 17, you can rent the item.
In Odoo 17, the Sales module is integrated with many other important modules. In the product setup window, you will be able to access advanced tabs depending on the modules that are installed in your database. Let's go into more depth about each of them.
The general information about the product is mentioned on the General Information tab. From the available options, pick the best Product Type.

In the Unit of Measure section, you can provide a default unit of measurement that will be used for all stock activities. The default UoM purchase orders can be set using the Purchase UoM field. It must belong to the same class as the standard unit of measurement.

You can include sales-related notes that will be included on the sales orders and invoices for this specific product by using the Sales Description field.
You can provide information about your eCommerce website in the Commerce Shop section to publish the product for online sales. The eCommerce page's display order will be decided by the Website Sequence. The product's eCommerce category might be mentioned in the Categories section. To draw customers, you can add ribbons with words like New, Out of Stock, Limited Stock, etc. When publishing a product on an eCommerce page. You can list these ribbons in the Ribbons field.

You may enable the Available in POS Point Of Sale option provided under the Point of Sale field if you want this product to be shown at the point of sale. You can add more

The Purchase tab can be used to define the purchase-related details when configuring a product that can be purchased. Using the Add a Line button, you may specify the product's vendors here. Using this option, you can add numerous vendors to a product. You can turn on the Subcontract field if you want to subcontract the product.

Enter the appropriate information in the relevant fields, including the Currency that is best for your purchase operations with the chosen vendor, the quantity you must buy from this vendor in order to receive the price expressed in the vendor's product unit of measure, the default Unit of Measure used for purchase orders, the Price to Buy This Product, and the Delivery Lead Time. The lead time in days between the purchase order's confirmation and the product's arrival in your warehouse is known as the delivery lead time.
The Vendor Taxes column can be used to add the default taxes that were applied when purchasing the product. The regulated Policy can be configured to either Ordered Quantities or Received Quantities, which will regulate invoices based on those quantities. Purchase orders will be supplemented with the notes specified in the Purchase Description field.
The Inventory tab of the product setup window, as seen, will have the necessary data to manage the product's inventory. You can choose from the available options for the specific product's Routes of operations. This will enable you to specify the product's path based on the modules that are installed in your database. You can mention a user in the Responsible area under the Logistics field. The following tasks pertaining to the logistical operations for this product will fall under the purview of this user. You can specify the product's weight and volume in the corresponding fields.

If the BOM has many levels, the component manufacturing lead times will be added. You can define the Manufacturing Lead Time in the field, which is the average lead time in days to manufacture this product. This can be used to decide when components should be given to the subcontractor in the event that the product is subcontracted. Additionally, a section for entering the number of days needed to prepare manufacturing orders will be provided. You can include the delivery lead time in days in the customer lead time field. It is the number of days that have been promised to the customer from the time the sale has been confirmed to the delivery.

You can add a Description Template pertaining to the features of the product under the eBay Description tab.

By setting up a product's variants in the Odoo 17 Sales module, you can provide your clients with more options for that product. You may enable the Variants functionality from the Settings menu. #### ***Price List***
Odoo 17 offers sophisticated price options to help your company's pricing strategy. These capabilities enable you to efficiently develop fresh price lists for particular clients. In the Odoo 17 Sales module, you may develop and manage new price lists based on the company's pricing plans.
You must activate the corresponding functionality from the Settings menu of the Sales module in order to gain access to the platform where new price lists can be configured. The Pricing tab, as illustrated in the image below, is where one may quickly activate the Price Lists feature.

#### ***Advanced Price Rules***
You can choose the Advanced Price Rules option to create an advanced price list for products when using the Pricelist function from the Settings menu. Go to the Pricelist menu item that is located under the Product menu now. You will see the Pricelist platform. You will be sent to a new pricelist setup window after clicking the New button. The configuration window for advanced price rules is shown below.
In the field provided, you can add the title of your new price list. You can then choose the appropriate currency from the menu and enter your company name in the corresponding areas. The pricelist setup window has three tabs that list more information about the new price list.

The Program Type can then be chosen.

You can specify the promo points in the Grant field under the Points tab. On the basis of the order, amount spent, or unit paid, it may be awarded. You can use the Save button after configuring the new rule.
You can include Rewards in the promotion program by using the Add button.

In Odoo 17, it is possible to reward users with complementary goods. You can choose "Free Product" as the reward type for this. As soon as you choose this option, you will see some extra fields where you may enter the information for the free item.

To print the created gift cards from PoS, select the option shown in the Print Report. The relevant area allows you to specify the currency that will be utilized for this gift card's transactions. By turning on the corresponding fields after mentioning the company, you can make this gift card available at the point of sale, during sales, and online. On this platform, you will find additional options where you can mention the relevant point of sale and website. In the Displayed as field, you can provide the name of the point gateway.
You can utilize the Generate Gift Cards button, which is marked in the screenshot above, after creating the new gift cards. You can provide any extra information needed for the creation of the gift card in the pop-up window that will display.

The Program Type can then be chosen.

You can specify the Minimum Quantity and Minimum Purchase amount to be eligible for this promotion programme on the Conditions page. You can specify the promo points in the Grant field under the Points tab. On the basis of the order, amount spent, or unit paid, it may be awarded. You can use the Save button after configuring the new rule.
You can include Rewards in the promotion program by using the Add button.

The percentage of the discount that you want to give your customer can then be specified. By choosing the appropriate option, you can provide a discount on the Order, Cheapest Product, or Specific Product. You can define the Maximum Discount offered as a reward under the Discount tab.
In Odoo 17, it is possible to reward users with complementary goods. You can choose "Free Product" as the reward type for this. As soon as you choose this option, you will see some extra fields where you may enter the information for the free item.

#### ***Gift Card and e-wallet***
In Odoo 17, a new function is available: a dedicated menu for managing gift cards and eWallets. You may access the eWallet's functionalities in the new Odoo 17 Sales module. The platform displays a list of gift cards and eWallets together with information about the Program Name, Program Type, Name, Website, PoS Configuration, and Company, as seen in the image below.

To print the created gift cards from PoS, select the option shown in the Print Report. The relevant area allows you to specify the currency that will be utilized for this gift card's transactions. By turning on the corresponding fields after mentioning the company, you can make this gift card available at the point of sale, during sales, and online. On this platform, you will find additional options where you can mention the relevant point of sale and website. In the Displayed as field, you can provide the name of the point gateway.
You can utilize the Generate Gift Cards button, which is marked in the screenshot above, after creating the new gift cards. You can provide any extra information needed for the creation of the gift card in the pop-up window that will display.

The Quantity to Create area allows you to enter the total number of gift cards you want to create. Additionally, in the Gift Card Value area, please state the points given to the customers. The Delivery Address in Odoo is the precise place to which products or services are to be delivered. It is usually associated with a vendor or client for shipping purposes.
A Private Address in Odoo is a unique or personal address linked to a contact, frequently utilized for social or non-business communications.
As an additional contact point, temporary address, or supplementary business site, the "Other Address" in Odoo usually refers to a different place linked to a contact or entity.
A "Follow Up Address" in Odoo is a special address or point of contact assigned to follow-up messages or activities pertaining to a certain record.

You can designate a Salesperson and Sales Team in the appropriate sections under the Sales tab to handle the sales activities associated with this customer. When a payment period is mentioned, it will be utilized on client invoices and sales orders rather than the standard one. In the Implemented By field, you can provide the allocated partner ID. For this customer, you can define a unique Price List in the designated field that will be used for sales in place of the default one. An Avalara Code that can be used for cross-referencing in the Avalara port will be given to the customer. In the appropriate boxes, mention the Avalara Partner Code and Avalara Exemption. The Delivery Method option allows you to specify the default delivery method to be used in this customer's sales orders.
You can choose the customer's preferred Payment Terms under the Purchase tab, and those terms will be applied to vendor bills and purchase orders rather than the default ones. When you mention the 1099 Box, the vendor's journal entries will be added to the box you chose on the 1099 report. You can provide the preferred mode of payment for this client in the Payment Mode section. In order to register payments in bulk, this is used to filter vendor bills by desired payment method.

Incoming inquiries can be filtered and qualified as leads by checking the Leads box before being turned into opportunities and given to a salesman.

The Sales Analysis button will take you to a new window where you can view the selected group's sales analysis report. This report can be used to evaluate the team's performance based on a number of factors.

The options to create reports for the Opportunities, Quotations, Sales, Invoices, and Activities managed by this specific team are available in the Reporting field. Each sales team has these choices available in the Kanban view.
Let's move on to creating sales quotations in the Sales module after organizing sales teams.
#### ***Sales Quotations***
The process of creating sales orders in a business begins with sales quotations. In order to offer the consumer an accurate sense of the goods, a sales quotation will include all pertinent details. You may take into consideration a sales quotation as the contract between the vendor and the buyer. It will provide both parties with clarification regarding the cost of the goods included in the sales operation. With the help of the Odoo 17 ERP system, you can quickly produce and send a quotation to a customer, allowing them to learn the precise price information for the goods and services given by your business prior to concluding any sales agreements. To add the Customer's name to the quotation, choose from the list provided. The Invoice Address, Delivery Address, pricelist, and Payment Terms will automatically populate in the appropriate fields after you choose an already established client here based on the information you provided when creating the customer. In the appropriate fields, also include the Referrer, the Quotation Template, and the Expiration Date of the Quotation. The Quotation Date field contains the quotation's creation date.
You can now add the products you want to offer your customer under the Order Line. You can enter the Product, Description, Quantity, UoM, Unit Price, Taxes, Discount, and SubTotal using the Add a Line button. Depending on the needs of the customer, you may add as many products to this section.

Businesses may provide customers with additional products as a part of their cross-selling techniques. In such circumstances, the Optional Products section is where you would mention those other products.

The customer can use online payment options to pay for the order by clicking the Online Payment button. If you want to print variant grids, fill in the Customer Reference and appropriate Tags in the fields provided, then turn on Print Variant Grids.

You may make reference to the Fiscal Position in the Invoicing and Payments section. Taxes and accounts are modified for a specific client or set of sales orders/invoices using fiscal positions. You can define the Analytic Account, Account Tags, and Payment Token associated with this quotation in the corresponding area, and if necessary, you can activate the Contract in Exception option.
Depending on your company's policies, you can choose the Shipping Policy under the Shipping Policy as Soon as Possible or When All Products Are Ready. If you ship every item at once, the delivery order will be set up according to the product with the longest lead time. The delivery date guaranteed to the customer can be mentioned in the Delivery Date column.

If chosen, this date will be used to automatically arrange the delivery order rather than the product lead time. The quotation's estimated delivery date is indicated here, close to the Delivery Date box.
You can enter the Source Document, Opportunity, Campaign, Medium, and Source in the respective fields provided in the Tracking section to enable successful Tracking operations.

Odoo 17 will add a new tab to the quotation window, as shown below, to capture the details of the customer signature whenever you activate the Online Signature option from the Other Information page and allow the customer to sign the quotation online.
This tab will display information about the signature, such as Signed By, Signed On, and Signature, after the consumer signs the quotation.

You can go to the Settings menu of the Sales module and turn on the Online Signature option to make the feature available for all sales orders.

The sales quotation is now complete, and you can submit it to the appropriate customer.
The quotation is sent to the client through email using the Send By Email option. By selecting the Confirm button, which will turn this sales quotation into a sales order, you can finalize the sale if the customer is happy with the quotation. You can cancel the newly made quotation with the help of the Cancel button. To view the customer preview of the quotation, click on the Preview button.

The recipient's name can be mentioned in the field provided. You have the option to modify the email's subject as needed. Click the Send button to finish. As shown in the figure below, the status of the quotation will be changed to "Quotation Sent."

You can view the quotation on the web by clicking the Customer Preview option. This is a glimpse of the customer portal, where the client can easily check and confirm the quotation. The concerned customer can easily sign and submit an electronic payment for the quotation by using the Sign & Pay button. You can download and print the quotation using the Download and Print buttons, respectively.

The customer can send feedback with the help of the Feedback button. If the consumer decides they do not want to proceed with this sales transaction, they can use the Reject option to reject the quotation.

#### ***Sale Order***
The quotation will be instantly transformed into a sales order once the customer accepts it. By selecting the Sign & Pay button from the customer site, the customer can Confirm the quote.

To finish the payment process, the consumer can click the Accept & Sign option. When you examine the sales quotation in the backend, you'll notice that the Customer Signature tab has the customer's signature information submitted automatically.
You can now select the Confirm button. The status of the quotation will change to Sales Order after you click the CONFIRM button, as seen in the figure below.

With default and programmable choices, the Filters and Group By options will assist you in streamlining your search operations.
Odoo 17 brought some additional functionality to sales orders. Let's examine those modifications now.
A list of sales orders is displayed; in Odoo 17, shift + Down Arrow can be used to select multiple sales orders.

You can make a new invoice in draught format by selecting the Create Invoice option. Order Count is the total number of chosen sales orders. You can designate the email template that will be sent upon confirmation in the Confirmation Mail section. In the Company box, you can mention the name of your business. In the Unit of Measure field, you can enter the name of the new UoM. Put the UoM's Category in the appropriate field. Only if the units of measure fall into the same category can they be converted. The UoM Type can be Smaller than the reference unit of measure, Larger than the reference unit of measure, or the Reference Unit of Measure for the category.

You can choose a type that works well for the new UoM. This University of Michigan's UNSPSC code can be found in the UNSPSC Category. You can round the amount and enter it in the Rounding Precision field to determine the UoM's most suitable value. You can activate the new UoM by setting the Active field to true.
You can define the category of each unit of measure by selecting the Units of Measure Categories option from the Configuration menu. As illustrated in the picture below, the list view will display information about the Unit of Measure Category, Group Products in PoS, and UoM.
